Port Meadow was an area of meadowland near Jericho in Oxford. The annual gyptian Horse Fair took place here during the second week of July. Port Meadow was across the Oxford Canal from Eagle Ironworks. Testing for the Thunderer cannon was done here.[1] It is also where Lyra Silvertongue used to play when she was at Jordan College.
