Count Belacqua

Count Belacqua was Lord Asriel's brother who, along with his wife, died in an airship crash. When Lord Asriel brought Lyra to be raised at Jordan College, he falsely claimed that Lyra was the orphaned daughter of Count Belacqua and his wife, when she was in fact Lord Asriel's illegitimate daughter with Marisa Coulter.
